Are you feeling stuck in life? Facing obstacles that seem impossible to overcome? You’re not alone. Many people find themselves trapped in their thoughts, overwhelmed by emotions, and unsure of the next step. But here’s the truth: God never called us to stay stuck. He calls us to move forward, press on, and trust Him through every valley.
Get Through by Growing Through
In James 1:2-4, we are told:
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
Did you catch that? Trials are not meant to break us—they’re meant to grow us. But growth doesn’t happen if we stay focused on the problem. Growth happens when we focus on the solution and allow God to shape us through the process.
Step Beyond Emotions and Into Problem-Solving
When emotions take over, clarity takes a backseat. Fear, frustration, and worry can paralyze us, making the problem seem bigger than it really is. But the Bible tells us in Philippians 4:6-7:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
The key? Pray, seek wisdom, and then act.
God won’t do the work for us, but He will guide us, strengthen us, and provide us with the wisdom we need. Instead of staying stuck in emotions, we need to shift into problem-solving mode and take proactive steps toward change.
How to Move Forward When You Feel Stuck
- Pray for clarity. – Ask God to help you see the next step clearly. Sometimes we don’t need to know the entire journey—just the next step. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
- Seek wisdom. – Get into God’s Word, seek godly counsel, and surround yourself with people who encourage you to move forward. (Proverbs 15:22)
- Break it down. – If the problem feels too big, break it into small, manageable steps and start with one. (Zechariah 4:10)
- Take action. – Even when you don’t feel like it, even when fear tells you otherwise—take the step. (2 Timothy 1:7)
- Trust the process. – Growth takes time. Don’t give up just because you don’t see immediate results. (Galatians 6:9)
Biblical Encouragement to Keep Moving Forward
- Isaiah 41:10 – “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
- Psalm 37:23-24 – “The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in Him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand.”
- Romans 8:28 – “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
You Were Made to Overcome
Life’s valleys will come, but you don’t have to stay stuck in them. Move forward. Trust God. Focus on solutions. Every difficulty you face is an opportunity to grow, strengthen your faith, and become the person God created you to be.
Don’t just go through it—grow through it.
If this encouraged you, share it with someone who needs a reminder that they can overcome life’s challenges with faith and action.
